In 2020, high school student Charlie Jeffers was inspired to begin repurposing Legos and started Pass the Bricks!
The organization takes used legos, sanitizes and organizes them, and then creates new sets from the donated bricks.
These sets are then donated to children who might not be able to afford sets of their own, to encourage creativity, imagination, and STEM learning!
Pass the Bricks is an all-volunteer organization and they work with several different nonprofits to distribute the newly created sets, including the Boys and Girls Club of America.
According to their website, although Charlie started the project in California, there are now volunteers working to repurpose lego in 157 cities around the world.
They have now donated 25,000 lego sets!
